All kicking off on here 😅🤣… FCP clearly has value and has been demonstrated considerably. Standards still an issue but shouldn’t be an issue with standards of practice/pathway sign offs. To say physio has no role/value in seeing patients with undifferentiated diagnosis 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️😨

Declan O'Hara (@physiodoh) 's Twitter Profile Photo

FCP is NOT a replacement for medics or GP colleagues in primary care. It is to assists colleagues in primary care management of patients with MSK conditions. It is to get it right first time, offering expertise at the front door. It is screening for 🚩& undifferentiated diagnosis

Declan O'Hara (@physiodoh) 's Twitter Profile Photo

FCP is NOT meant to be a cheap, inferior, poorer version of a GP for management of MSK conditions. No, we are NOT doctors. We ARE a regulated health care profession, which HAS been seeing undifferentiated patients for a long time, to positive effect (mostly).

Declan O'Hara (@physiodoh) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It would be naive and distasteful to suggest that all those working within primary care (GP/FCP etc) always get it right and never ‘miss’ things. It happens in every profession, regardless of qualification. Standards, competence and regulation ideally reduces these risks.

Declan O'Hara (@physiodoh) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I understand frustrations with the system and the current climate/landscape but to lash out at other regulated health care professions, who have proved themselves competent, safe and effective…distasteful. 🥴 yes inwardly, physio probably does need to improve in many ways but 🤦🏻‍♂️

Do I have any Doctors who follow me? Just intrigued to know how much your professional fees are per year? CSP + HCPC, £579 per year. To work. Any other professions that have to pay to go to work? 🫨🫣. We won’t talk about paying to park and other NHS issues…

I’ve been a surgeon for over 30 years… There are many lessons that I’ve learned: Rehab works… more often than you think. Surgery Helps Less Than You Think—But Rehab Helps More After three decades in the operating room, I’ve come to a surprising conclusion—one I wish more

🤦🏻‍♂️ embarrassing again. England/Scotland pay disparity. How does that make sense? Pay cut in real terms. Again. Usual nonsense.

Declan O'Hara (@physiodoh) 's Twitter Profile Photo

That’s how you do it! Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) shameful. Borderline disgraceful. But no surprise really. A profession that undervalues itself encouraged that way by the body that represents them.

Declan O'Hara (@physiodoh) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Not sure how attacking other health professions is a good use of time 😬 interesting nonetheless…doubt it meets any form of professional standards but hey what do I know, just a Physio 🤣

Someone highlighted this report on LinkedIn: australian.physio/sites/default/… Very interesting read. Wouldn’t it be nice if Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) would provide a similar report but that would be trying to push a positive agenda for wage increases. They would rather push for pay cuts like last time 😬
