Received yesterday from Stijn Oomes PhD a CD with a nice coverage of my first RoboCup. Uploaded the content to a webpage: staff.fnwi.uva.nl/a.visser/resea….

Never throw something away! In our lab we have a UMI-RTX robot which was bought 40 years ago (the time from Jimmy Saville as Doctor Magic). Currently we are testing the RT-X models created by DeepMind. After some hard work the rubber band was gone, but we still had a spare!

On the RoboCup a peek into the future is given on what the next generation of Nao robots (version 7) will over. Very excited about the increase of computing power and ToF sensors.

Thanks to the experienced engineers from Aldebaran, part of United Robotics Group at the RoboCup, we could repair the LaserHead of our first Nao (from 2010!). It could accurately detect the wall 1m ahead of him.
