ROCK AND ROLL: Bell’s Crossing Elementary celebrated #RockYourSchool Day. This is part of a fundraiser the school has been doing to raise money for Make-A-Wish. Students were treated to performances by Hillcrest High’s Ram Voices + Steve Eager & Friends!

A big highlight of AirVenture was seeing VC-121A Constellation, “Bataan.” This was its first airshow appearance after a multi-year restoration. “Bataan” flew missions in the Berlin Airlift, and later as a transport aircraft for General MacArthur during the Korean War.

Great celebration of honoring veterans!

Joni Lefter lost her wallet in a parking lot last week, where it later happened to catch the eye of bus driver Aaron Housel. After tracking down Ms. Lefter, Housel was able to return her wallet. Lefter, who just moved to Greenville, is grateful for Aaron’s kindness and honesty.

SOUND ON: Fine Arts Center was recently gifted a big addition to their recital hall. A nine foot Steinway grand piano was generously donated by Peace Center!

SHARE THE WARMTH! Students and teachers at Greer Middle School received a free Yellow Jackets sweatshirt Friday morning. It’s all thanks to the efforts of student council members, who raised more than $12,000 with help from local businesses and community partners.

SAVING LIVES: Sevier Middle School 8th grader Willa King collapsed while running on the school's track in November. Thanks to quick action by the school's first responders, they were able to administer necessary treatment to Willa through an AED!

No one gets to their destination by looking in the rearview mirror. Keep your head up and move forward!

Friday morning, 300 GCS team members drove 9,000 miles to assess the conditions of the routes from students’ homes to schools. While considerable improvement has been made since last week, the process documented more than 1,500 issues making it unsafe for both buses and cars.

EMT students at Golden Strip Career Center had a special visit this week! Spartanburg’s "Regional One" helicopter landed at the school, where students had the chance to talk with the crew. They shared about daily operations, becoming a flight nurse or flight medic, and much more!

MARCHING ON: The Riverside High marching band will soon take the trip of a lifetime! These outstanding students will help kick off 2025 by performing in the London New Year's Day Parade. Students and Director of Bands Kris Bence are very excited as final preparations take place!

Greer High School is home to one of only six Global Logistics classes in South Carolina. Students from the class recently toured both Inland Port Greer and BMW. They saw daily operations up close, learning the value of logistics operations and jobs available here in the Upstate.
