I can always count on students to pose the tough questions, and Johns Hopkins SAIS was no exception. Enjoyed sharing my views on PH and our relations with the US and ASEAN, and hopefully imparted some inspiring words as well. Excited to see where the future takes these changemakers
Today I met with Rep. Congressman Brad Sherman, with whom I had the pleasure of exchanging notes on Philippines-U.S. relations. I thanked the good Congressman his support for the Philippines and advocacy for the interests of his Filipino-American constituents in California’s 32nd District.
On geoeconomics, it always bears repeating that defense and economic security are mutually reinforcing. Nowhere is this more crucial than in the Asia Pacific, home to some of the most dynamic economies such as the Philippines. Thank you Meridian International Center for having me #MeridianSummit
I had the chance to dialogue with the Heritage Foundation Foundation, which wrote an article recently on the Philippines-U.S. alliance. We greatly appreciate their assessment of the alliance and appreciate their call to strengthen it in view of persistent challenges in the Indo-Pacific.
