Hello Phil Twitter, I am out here trying to get an understanding of when we have been mistaken about love, and I was wondering if you'd share with me your experiences: forms.gle/koyTvebwhHM1ta…

Tonight I was too lazy to get up from the dinner table to fetch some dessert, thus proving that, unlike the virtues, the vices (gluttony, sloth) are not unified.

What level philosopher does one have to be in order to cite that your conditions are vague and it’s not a big deal, but it’s supposed to cover all of social phenomena? Asking for a friend.

So, I do discussion by opening a google doc and allowing the students to answer questions. I asked "What would you like me to know" Answer Thankyou for pushing for us to actually learn and understand how philosophy works instead of just letting us do it wrong over and over

Aristotle making the point that the possible is the actual, in Poetics ch.9: "actual events are evidently possible, otherwise they would not have occurred." (τὰ δὲ γενόμενα φανερὸν ὅτι δυνατά· οὐ γὰρ ἂν ἐγένετο, εἰ ἦν δύνατα.)

French philosophy doesn't resonate with me very much in general, but they have some absolute bangers. One is from Deleuze: "give me the possible, or else I'll suffocate!"

Plato said, "You're all stuck in a cave, Seeing shadows of copies folk wave; So escape and enjoy The world of eidoi, And tell others the truth if you're brave."
