First paper describing the Franco-German 11.7T Iseult scanner out in Nature Methods. While the image comparison figure is certainly a strawman (I’ve seen much better images acquired at 3 and 7T), this is still a fascinating technical advance: nature.com/articles/s4159…

So excited about this study led by Anne Billot, PhD, @annebillot.bsky.social and NiharikaJhingan: Good news for us, aging folks -- some 🧠 networks (e.g., the language one!) don't seem to deteriorate with age! Long live the language network!

We brought together a panel of experts in TMS, EEG/MEG, fMRI, fNIRS, sEEG (+ every possible combo!) to understand how to (and how not to) measure excitability beyond M1. Lots of fun with Anna-Lisa Schuler Martin Tik @e_Kallioniemi Ana suller Zhengchen Cai osf.io/preprints/psya…

A bit late to my own party but super happy to see this out now in Science Advances 🥳 (science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…). We find that preparatory activity during context-guided search reflects a template for attentional guidance and can encode associated objects, not the target itself!

👀 AHEAD OF PRINT 👀 #Language in the #brain isn’t limited to isolated regions—it’s a #dynamic #network of #cortical, #subcortical, and white matter #pathways. A new collection of studies mapping the #language #systems is coming out in Brain Structure & Function 🔗 link.springer.com/article/10.100…

Announcing the Neurobiology of Language award for Best Paper of 2023! 👏 Information-Restricted Neural Language Models Reveal Different Brain Regions' Sensitivity to Semantics, Syntax and Context | doi.org/10.1162/nol_a_… | by Alexandre Pasquiou, Yair Lakretz, @BertrandThirion & Christophe Pallier

The reply to our NRN piece (nature.com/articles/s4158…) by Drijvers et al. presented a chance to clarify common confusions about our work on the language network (LN) and the functional localization approach more generally: rdcu.be/d5rkJ. 🧵1/n w/Anna Ivanova Tamar Regev

A lot can change in 7 years, especially in the #neuromodulation field. Check out our new consensus review on #TMS for depression published in IFCN and its Clinical Neurophysiology journals, updating our 2018 review. It's endorsed by National Network of Depression Centers, @clinicalTMS, and IFCN: doi.org/10.1016/j.clin…

(1/4) A new paper Brain Stimulation challenges a foundational assumption in computational models of brain stimulation (neuromodulation/electrical stimulation). Rather than suggest prior predictions were wrong, this paper shows how the suitability of this foundational assumption can be
