I just had a funny thought. The year-end awards for best tournament are voted on by the players only, not fans. Cluj won Best 250 2 years in a row but lost last year. Coincidently this year Cluj had a record number of Romanian players. Players who will surely vote for Cluj. 🤣

Gabriela Ruse spoke with DigiSport after she had to retire from her R1 match in Doha, explaining she is mentally and physically tired from having to play qualifiers at every tournament. She also talked about how much Simona's retirement affected her.

Today I got such a special gift! A few days before she went to play in Cluj, while messaging with Simona she asked for my address saying she wanted to thank me by sending me one of her rackets. Today it arrived and I am in tears.

So happy for Amanda. She has had a rough couple of years. I was afraid she was done with tennis with how little we had seen her. Great to see her back to winning and winning big. Happy to see a great player back to being great.
