Really concerned that the EHRC has submitted a new Code of Practice to the Equality Act 2010, for government review. It undermines rather than updates the Act, limiting the rights of trans people. Blatant transphobia wrapped up in language about protecting single-sex spaces.

Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Trans rights are human rights. And I will always stand in solidarity with my trans and gender diverse friends.

“Trans people should be accommodated according to their presentation, the way they dress and the pronouns they use.” This is from current NHS guidance, in place since Sept 2019. Sad that the EHRC wants to change the rules, potentially placing trans women in men’s wards.
