THIS SHIT IS SERIOUS: An amount of sugar entered Gaza today. My friend is telling me that his neighbor experienced hallucinations after eating from that sugar and she was transferred to Al-Aqsa Hospital.

An entire generation of young people now view the Palestinian cause as central to their political and moral identity. No amount of propaganda can suppress that.

1. When any good news came to the Prophet (PBUH) or if a calamity had been averted, he would immediately fall in prostration (sajdatul shukr) & thank Allah for it. This is a beautiful sunnah that should be practiced all the time and not just for major occasions.

God in the Quran tells all believers to reflect on His Signs in nature. The mountains, plants, animals, seas, rain, etc. Clearly, God wants the believing women out and about, exploring nature and reflecting on it. The ‘chaar-devaari’ desi nonsense is incompatible with this.

Every woman is addressed in every verse that is not explicitly limited to men. So many of the control mechanisms that are imposed on the lives of women & girls in conservative desi Muslim communities fall apart if we reflect on the Quran and the clear implications of God’s words.

God encourages reflection on nature -> women have to be able to travel/explore. God makes us *all* accountable for knowing/practising his commands -> women and men are intellectual equals and autonomous moral agents. And so on.
