Having a mentor at work makes the world of difference. Having someone who calls periodically just to check in and who is willing to talk through complicated projects and new ideas - especially on stressful days is so impactful.

Homeownership is wild because it’s like “Yay we are finally getting a fence put up after 3 months of HOA applications, permits, and contract discussions” and then BOOM you have a new fence but the fence guys cut power to your garage
