You know what amazes me most about the companions of the Prophet (saw)? It’s how each of them found a space for themselves and excelled in it. Take Abdullah ibn Abbas, the Prophet’s cousin. After the Prophet (saw) passed away, Ibn Abbas (RA) told his friend.

“Let’s go and seek knowledge from the companions of the Prophet.” His friend replied, “Why bother? There are already many scholars.” But Ibn Abbas saw something his friend didn’t. The value of seeking wisdom from those who knew, and preparing for a future others couldn’t see.
