There is no other way to say this: the (lack of) reaction to the scenes of sheer carnage, burned refugee bodies, and decapitated babies coming out of Rafah tonight from the U.S. political and media establishments is nothing other than the normalizing, the banalizing, of genocide.
Palestinian children should wake up feeling excited to go to school and play with their friends. Instead, for those murdered in Rafah, their last moments on this earth were filled with unimaginable fear as bombs rained down on their tents. What a monstrous failure of humanity.
Thank you Guy Pearce. Most in Hollywood have stayed cynically and shamefully silent as a genocide unfolds in clear sight, but Guy and others like Cynthia Nixon and Mark Ruffalo have rightly spoken out. They are on the right side of history.
“I resigned on Wednesday, 15 May – the 76th anniversary of the Nakba… I could no longer serve at the pleasure of a president who refuses to stop another catastrophe” I wrote for The Guardian about my resignation. How many red lines will it take, President Biden? theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
#learningdisabilityweek a timely reminder of STOMP (stopping over medication of people with a learning disability, autism or both) and STAMP (supporting treatment and appropriate medication in paediatrics). Andy Wignell
To my Nottingham University Hospitals colleagues who are scared and anxious tonight - know this - you are not alone and you are valued. The people who make up NUH, make NUH - and I am proud that we have such a diverse and multicultural team - it makes us stronger and it makes us better. ⬇️
