Tonight was a great way to end the month of June by having the @PGCPS Summer Instrumental Music Experience Concert! Our 4 day camp concluded with MS Orchestra, MS Band, HS Chamber Ensembles & HS Jazz Band performances. We have such amazing and talented students!!

What’s the Instrumental Music Supervisors favorite sound? Right now, it’s the sound of our PGCPS warehouse trucks rolling up to take new instruments out to our schools! Thanks to our drivers and teams, we couldn’t do it without them! #musicinourschools #PGCPSPerforms

We had a GREAT time providing rewarding experiences for over 1,200 band and orchestra students that chose to participate in our @PGCPS Solo and Ensemble Festival this weekend! The smiles, the determination, the perseverance, and the joy paid off for so many students!

Love my music mail I received from string students at Benjamin Tasker MS during Music In Our Schools Month! Even though March is over, we are still supporting and making music with our students! Make sure your child takes advantage of the wonders and joys of music ⁦PGCPS⁩!

Two PGCPS High School Jazz bands performed at the 1st Annual Prince George’s Community College Jazz Festival! Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. & Suitland VPA Jazz bands performed and had the crowds grooving to end a very busy day of Saturday Instrumental Music performances! #MIOSM

3 PGCPS HS concert bands: Suitland VPA, Northwestern VPA, & Laurel HS participated in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Concert Band Festival hosted by UMD Music Education @ Clarice Smith Perf. Arts Center! Each group had an amazing stage performance followed by an informative clinic! #MIOSM

Busy Saturday for @PGCPS Instrumental Music Students!! Benjamin Tasker MS band and orchestra students performed this morning for the PGCPS Social Studies History Day!! Love the collaboration between contents!! #MIOSM

First wk of Performance Assessments highlighting our PGCPS Southern Area Schools was a tremendous success!! Nervous faces turn into receptive faces then proud faces is just a part of what this event exudes! Students are resilient and just need an opportunity to shine! #MIOSM

Day 2 of 6 concluded with some great performances from our Southern Area Middle and High School Bands!! It’s been so joyous to hear our students in person again and to see the excitement and encouragement between schools as students perform! Southern Area Orchestras as tomorrow!!

Congratulations to the 2023 Charter Members of the Phi Beta Mu, International Bandmasters Fraternity - Alpha Iota Chapter. These @PGCPS teachers will represent the fraternity, Maryland Music Educators Association and PGCPS well to further music education!
