God’s means of working is not by making us stronger, but by making us weaker and weaker until his power is clearly manifested in our lives.

Without a deep theological and practical understanding of limits, we severely compromise our ability to love God, ourselves, and others over the long haul.

Practicing “being” before “doing” means you are operating from a place of emotional and spiritual fullness, deeply aware of yourself and others. As a result, your being with God is sufficient to sustain you doing for God. EmotionallyHealthy.org/Discipleship

Your being with God (or lack of being with God) will trump, eventually, your doing for God every time.

We’re facing challenges greater than any other in our lifetime. These require a radical decision from each of us to invest deeply in positioning ourselves so that Jesus can profoundly transform the core of our being. Why? So we can say as Paul, “Imitate me as I imitate Christ.”

One of the greatest challenges facing every Christian (especially us leaders!) is how to engage social media and public ministry without crossing the line into sin and self-promotion apart from God.

The quality of the people who surround you will determine, to a significant degree, the level of success in your leadership. Because there is undeniable loneliness and challenges in leadership, it is critical we get our key relationships right.

To avoid the trap of false power, we must master discernment instead of hustling.
