Good morning, I am David, and I am part of the Third Order Society of Saint Francis. We are a dispersed community and our members can be male or female, married or single, lay or ordained. We live under a rule of life whilst carrying out our regular jobs in society.

When I was a lad (1960s) you had made it when you were a millionaire. Now you’ve made it when you’re a billionaire. 1000 fold increase. But the value of money between 1960 and 2020 only went up 24 fold. Hmmm.

My arrangement of John Rutter 's beautiful 'The Lord Bless You and Keep You' - in the absence of a real choir I thought I'd try a new video style! #arrangement #virtualchoir

Politics For All The Spectator Facts from data this week and a day in November with the equivalent number of cases. Resd in to it what you will. I read that as vaccinations working along with herd immunity. Case numbers aren't the barometer to panic over. Cases in ICU and deaths are.

Politics For All @Paul19885D The Spectator The people getting excited on here about number of positive cases… It’s irrelevant, it’s the number hospitalised thats crucial. The vaccine is proving successful in preventing serous illness from COVID. We need to live with it, it’s never going away.

@simon_leighton The church is reluctant to accept that in the western nations, religion is out of favour against materialism. The church should focus on holiness and adjust to its current size which will last perhaps another century or so before revival.

'Blessed are those servants who do not consider themselves any better when they are praised and exalted by people than when they are considered worthless, simple and looked down upon, for what we are before God, that we are and no more.' (St. Francis of Assisi, 'The Admonitions')

Thought provoking Church Times feature on #obesity reminds me of my spiritual director's advice on writing a Rule of Life: "start with your bedtime". Much Western Christian practice ignores the body. No fasting or pilgrimage, seated for worship. Essentially dualist.
