8PM EDT Sep 21: We continue to monitor 3 areas for potential development across the Atlantic basin. A low pressure system is expected to form in the NW Caribbean Sea in a few days and it has a 70% chance of development while it moves generally northward across the Gulf of Mexico

Models are in good agreement of this not making landfall in SWFL, but being on the right side of the storm is leaving us in a vulnerable position.

Our sister station in Orlando has an in-house model that would disaster for Tampa, and not great for Southwest Florida either.
