The syllabus for this year's Physically Based Shading course at SIGGRAPH is out, and it's great! Lots of super cool topics, including two from my old pal Peter Kutz. I'm only attending virtually this year, but I'd go to this course in person if I could! blog.selfshadow.com/publications/sโ€ฆ

Spherical harmonics are widely used in graphics. Ever wondered how to compute their derivatives? My High-Perf Graphics 2025 poster shows that it is basically free. It also comes with a code generator for C, C++, Python, GLSL and HLSL to compute SH with derivatives. momentsingraphics.de/HPGPoster2025.โ€ฆ

We're presenting at #SIGGRAPH2025! ๐Ÿš€ We use adaptive tetrahedral grids (via the LEB algorithm) to GPU path trace volumetric production assets. Fewer neighbors, less memory, real-time performanceโ€”up to 30ร— faster than regular grids. ggx-research.github.io/publication/20โ€ฆ

Very happy to receive a #SIGGRAPH2025 Best Paper Award (Honorable Mention) for our RSP algorithm, which dices surfaces into near-perfect rectangles. Such meshes are useful for everything from retopology, to microfluidic simulation, to textile design, to architectural geometry.
