John Cocker 🇺🇦 Auschwitz Memorial Esther was born on 26 January 1937, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands to Emanuel and Rachel Polak. She and her family were taken to Westerbork, a transit camp for Dutch Jews, and then to Auschwitz. Esther was gassed there on July 29, 1942, at age five-and-a-half.
