A lovely couple of days working over at the Manifold Valley with our probation volunteer’s FitForWork. 3 jobs completed, new steps down onto the river Manifold, putting in a new wicket gate on a local footpath, and rebuilding a small section of limestone Dry stone wall.

We mixed two of our volunteer groups together today, working on the public footpaths at Heatherdean. We had our PPCV individuals working alongside our additional need students from chapel high school. I am sure you will agree they did a fantastic job. Peak District National Park #volunteering

I had a little swap around with the calendar, PPCV’s midweek walling group should have been working in Longnor repairing a wall with not a single tree for shade, but we swapped it to this nice little temporary fencing job and started on a dry stone wall repair at Hagg Water.

We played Dodge the Rain today with our volunteers, and we had a real mixture of jobs. Firstly rounding up a flock of sheep in the wrong field, before temporarily repairing the offending areas of fencing, and resetting all the tree canes after the sheep knocked them over.

After having the weekend off I got back at it today, making the wicket gates that you see all around the park, with our Probation group Fit For Work. Peak District National Park #probation #peakdistrict #volunteering FitForWork1 #CFO
