Today really hit me hard… Driving year 11 GCSE class back to school after their rock climbing assessment. N-Dubz comes on the radio, I turn it up and perform a 10/10 performance. Not one of them had ever heard of N-Dubz 😭 That’s it, I’m officially old.

We spend 50% more hours in school than Finland. They get 15 mins of recess every hour. They have NO standardized tests except for PISA in HS and they outperform us every time. When we can’t give students more recess, physical activity & Arts then we don’t understand education.

If students who misbehave are re circulated and re circulated, doing the same/similar things over and over again, being taken out of class for a cosy chat then taken back again, but there is no proper escalation, bat stop or effective sanction in place.... how can teachers teach?
