On 30th June, 1938 at Morata de Tajuña, the 18th Brigada Mixta of the 9th Division of the Popular Army inaugurated a memorial to the International Brigade dead. Here is a photo of the memorial, and a fragment of it, after it was blown up by the Nationalists after the War.

A trip yesterday to Jarama with two Canucks and a Yank. We visited the British Battalion positions where Bert "Yank" Levy was captured and the Lincoln positions of their attacks on 23rd and 27th February 1937. 40 Canadians were in the Lincolns and 9 were killed here.
