Another great day at #SIMEW2025! Students explored regional mapping with Ontario Geological Survey around Laurentian University - Université Laurentienne, then wrapped the day with a welcome reception & keynote presentation from Catherine Farrow, President at FarExGeoMine, at Dynamic Earth! 🗺️

What drives a student to explore the world beneath our feet? For Arielle Oeur, it started with curiosity — and led to S-IMEW 2025. Now just a few days in, she is already gaining hands-on experience and fresh perspective on what the future of geoscience could look like 🚀

Joy Carter participated in S-IMEW as a student in 2019. and today returns as a group leader for Exploration Mapping Day. Seeing alumni return as mentors is a powerful reminder of the community S-IMEW builds — and the impact it continues to have.

Jérémie Langlois, now an Exploration Geologist at Brunswick Exploration, joined us today to share his journey from student to professional. He spoke about how S-IMEW laid the foundation for his path into the industry — building skills, confidence, and connections along the way.
