The Opening Ceremony of the 8th Edition of Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE) 2025 commenced with welcoming remarks by YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State EXCO for Tourism & Creative Economy, and Mr. Ashwin Gunasekeran, CEO of Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB).

Day 1 concluded with a hosted welcome dinner for the international buyers and media at Holiday Inn & Suites Penang Prai by IHG. The programme also included a site inspection of the new property, giving attendees a first-hand look at its facilities and offerings.
