Guerilla light projection at parliament last night to highlight almost 200,000 dangerous high-rise homes (and a bigger, still unknown number of unsafe flats in smaller blocks) remaining 4 years after Grenfell

Are you an #Architect who is knowledgable of and can give professional expertise on #cladding ? I'm looking to speak to someone who is confident in this area to speak to me for a #documentary on the #claddingscandal #journorequest

She reiterated her "empathy" and "sympathy"- that said I asked her repeatedly if she could guarantee no-one would lose their home over this, that her organisation would not play any part in removing someone. She couldn't give me that assurance.

Meanwhile, the statute of limitations has expired for the developer. IV says that the building met all building regs in 2005. So looks like the government, freeholder and developer isn't going to pay- despite the fact they all had a role in regulation or construction...

...of a building which isn't safe. The leaseholders did not but they're being left with the cost. More on this on Newsnight shortly, tune in.

My advice to the Prime Minister: find the funding to make these buildings safe, make them saleable, then chase those who are actually responsible.

London Fire Commissioner tells #AssemblyFire committee London Assembly that 901 buildings in London have waking watches and number is rising. The financial impact on residents is enormous and it means extra work for rhe London Fire Brigade to ensure Londoners are safe in their homes.

Tonight on Newsnight we’ll be dedicating the whole show to the Building Safety Crisis and the nightmare in which thousands and thousands of people, sold the dream of home ownership, find themselves. As things stand it will be thousands more still, many of whom don’t know it yet.

🎥 Essential viewing this evening, in which emily m, Lewis Goodall, Ben Chu and David Grossman attempt to unpack the causes, scale and implications of what began life as the cladding crisis but which many now understand to be a comprehensive building safety crisis. #Newsnight

Striking poll on Newsnight about the building safety crisis. Only 1% of people believe that the leaseholders should foot the bill - despite that being the current default legal position. We badly need action on this & to end the cladding scandal.

BBC Newsnight (@bbcnewsnight) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Around the country, 16% of people polled by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for #Newsnight are either affected by or know someone who is caught up in the building safety crisis. @Lewis_Goodall has more and outlines the scale of the public policy problem ⬇️

Heartbreaking watching BBC Newsnight Lewis Goodall tonight. So many innocent people like us, trapped in a mess caused by lax regulations & a race to the bottom in safety standards. Eye watering bills & very few solutions.

Hilary Benn (@hilarybennmp) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It certainly is, and the central message is that the Government does not currently have a plan to fix this. And until it comes up with one, this crisis will continue to blight the lives of many many people. Leeds Cladding Scandal UK Cladding Action Group

So if you are in this position, keep shouting about it (and attend the rally on the 16th if you can). There are no easy solutions, but there are better ones. It is and always was ultimately a question of political will.

Inside Housing Elsewhere..mel from The Times and The Sunday Times highlights issues faced by those leaseholders in blocks with dangerous cladding and had bought their homes through the gov’s Help to Buy scheme.
