Pavement Lights are set into pavements to allow sunlight into cellars below. Had their heyday 1880s- 1920s and use anidolic prisms (in the glass blocks/bricks) to increase the light. An unremarked part of our streetscapes. These 2 examples from Lennox St. D8. #dublindecoded
