Today there is a by-election where I live (Bay of Quinte) after our MPP resigned to take up a private sector job. I voted early. Funny thing, not one piece of election literature in the mail, a few signs on streets, I suppose I am curious about which candidate will win.

Every morning before I go out to wander I spray DEET on feet and legs. Has this saved me from ticks? No idea. These are nice days, low teens in the morning. Hardly any bugs out.

A huge thank you to Sean Fine and the Globe and Mail for publishing this article on the state of the civil justice system. theglobeandmail.com/canada/article…

My wife had poutine for lunch and a KFC poutine for supper. Never cared much for the stuff myself but she is certainly easy to please sometimes. If I really want to score points I will find her a frozen goose at some store.

You can tell where I am from. My transportation priority is another interchange on the 401 into the industrial park in Belleville. I wish they would just go ahead with it. Ontario's support is lukewarm at best, unfortunately.

The most amazing transit change in Belleville is that there is now two way bus service on the block on which I live. Doubt I will take the bus but it is interesting to see. First step in getting away from endless meandering bus routes.

New MPP in Belleville worked as a bike mechanic for current mayor at his store and former MP and later bought out the business. Interesting connections.

New police chief in Belleville retired in 2018 as chief in Peterborough after 35 years of service. He's only 60 years old so easy to see why he would want to get back to work.
