Checking out the websites of leading Western newspapers this morning is an astonishing experience. Almost all ignore the ICJ judgement, sometimes distracting us with UNRWA. Only @ft leads with it, and Le Monde gives it a mention. We are in Ministry of Truth territory.

UCU is a union of academic researchers. We are trained in analytical thinking. And we are rigorous and careful in making claims on the basis of data.

It is untrue to claim that a high participation rate in an unacceptable politically-motivated 'survey' makes the results valid.

It’s time to say

This Saturday, October 1st, we’ll be protesting in 50 cities and towns across Britain:

For pay rises, against the energy rip-off, to end food poverty – and to say no to handouts for the rich.

RT to spread the word 👊

New! Paul Brook has produced this superb critique of Jane McAlevey's organising model for International Socialism Journal. Extremely relevant given its influence on UCU.

Jane McAlevey's organising methods have been widely promoted within unions such as UCU.

But ideas such as strike 'supermajorities' can be deployed by conservative union leaders.

Paul Brook analyses her strengths and weaknesses.
