Now onto litter in the waterways at Salford Quays. Cllr Paul Heilbron of Quays Liberal Democrats said the issue is the "most pressing concern" of residents in the ward, but the current approach is "fragmented" due to the "complex ownership of the waterways."

A bit more detail on what the plan would entail. It would create a Waterways Stakeholders forum made up of the council, community groups, and businesses, as well as sharing regular reports on the progress made.

Today my motion that was focused on the Maintenance of Waterways was finally debated. I couldn’t be happier that Salford Council choose to take positive action to clean up the waterways! “There’s a plan to stop it” 👀🚯

Did you know that it was World Rivers Day this weekend? Yet only 14% of rivers in the UK achieved "good ecological status". That's why we're keeping up the pressure on the Government to stop the sewage dumping that's happening in our beautiful waterways.

I spoke to That's TV about the desperately disappointing decision from Wes Streeting to decide not to fund the urgently needed repairs at Stepping Hill Hospital this week.
