Science Magazine Thank you Science Magazine for giving @socsavantes the fantastic opportunity to write this week's editorial: "France needs a Chief Science Adviser" : science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… Emmanuel Macron Gabriel Attal Ministère Enseignement supérieur et Recherche
Cool! Several Oikopleura (tunicates) genomes show their genomes are highly scrambled despite being morphologically identical. This suggests the presence of previously unnoticed cryptic species. Congrats CañestroLab EvoDevoGenomeUB GeneLoss🫀Heart🌊Ocean & rest of authors!
This echoes the work of patrick_lemaire and colleagues on ascidians science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… and suggests that cells can control and buffer genomes in #development #MasterBuilder #NotIntheGenes
Very happy, and quite relieved, to see the peer reviewed version of this paper (finally) published, after a first preprint posted in 2021. Congratulations to Naoyuki Ohta for this tour-de-force, inasmuch as the study is replete with technical feats. 1/n
Just arrived in #SunnyBergen for a 2-day visit at Michael Sars Centre. Thanks you Dr. Lionel Christiaen (he/him/his) for the invitation! Looking forward to nice discussions on marine #devbio and lovely ascidians.
