Poland this morning. General lack of coverage in the media who are more interested in the Emmys. How can we save ourselves if the public doesn’t understand what’s happening?

Mary L Trump (@maryltrump) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The people calling Donald Trump a threat to American democracy (those of us who are paying attention) are NOT the people calling for violence.

Jenrick says he would vote for Trump. We can therefore conclude that Jenrick would pull UK support for Ukraine & take Britain out of the Paris Agreement. These two Trump policies are so significant that no one who did not agree with them, could rationally vote for him.

Looking at the replies to this and seeing how common it seems to be is worrying. Teaching isn't just about transferring stuff into memory. It's also about modelling creativity and taking risks! I don't view this approach as teaching.

Why does a government spokesperson have to spout "there will be no return to the single market" every single time the damage of Brexit is raised? bbc.com/news/articles/…

Prof Paul Bernal (@paulbernaluk) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Looks like a good idea. If only Cambridge City Council had similar bravery. As it is, the motor-lobby still rules, as the continued acquiescence over Mill Road bridge demonstrates.

Prof Paul Bernal (@paulbernaluk) 's Twitter Profile Photo

For those who don’t know, we had a brief period of cars banned on Mill Road bridge, and it was wonderful. Locals support it: rat-runners hate it, and have found a variety of ways to stymie the locals’ will.

They fixed a county council meeting, used filibustering legal tactics to delay and delay and delay, and persuaded people who should know better in an attempt to block it. So far, they’ve succeeded. Cars and vans still dominate.

NEW 🧮 comprehensive Brexit trade analysis suggests hit from new trade barriers worsening in 2023 as UK decouples from EU supply chains… uses 3 full years data to analyse trends by sector/ sub sector/ nation 27% export hit vs its no Brexit model: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Faisal Islam (@faisalislam) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The Aston University study is of goods trade, whereas services trade has performed better than expected… points to some interesting trends by sector, sub sector and by trading partner… esp re variety of trade… Ie how many products went to every EU country from UK - big fall

Faisal Islam (@faisalislam) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Aston University The granular detail in this is very helpful, practical information/data, and it was unclear whether the previous Government wanted to hear it… Smaller exporters sending smaller consignments to smaller EU countries (including commonwealth allies Cyprus & Malta) seem most hit

Aside from the sheer inhumanity, this is a ticking time bomb for UK public expenditure and the economy. The UK is shameful for treat children like this. theconversation.com/getting-shorte…

Suzanne Brown (@sparker616) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I'd wager these are privately educated kids. They've been (silver) spoon fed throughout school life and can't cope with independence at uni. That's why state school kids do better at uni. #r4today

I wonder if drop out rates necessarily mean a course is bad. Challenging ones might be good courses but students might decide they are not for them. #r4today

People complain about the BBC but it's pretty much the only place left on the Internet which doesn't exist for the sole reason to sell you something or sell adverts.

So depressing after govt rejection of EU offer on Youth Mobility. Making it easier for young ppl to visit UK on school trips/for UK youth to study & work in EU thro visa scheme with capped nos wd be proof govt is committed to opportunity. Generational unfairness of Brexit is grim
