A protest/attack on any elected representative’s family home is an attack on democracy. We need to urgently strengthen our laws on this before something really really awful happens.
We are driving good people
away from politics and not attracting good people in the first place

Back on Mount Street

It’s absolutely clear that the intervention of St Patrick’s Weekend was nothing more than a PR stunt.

The numbers are twice as bad as they were.

A shame they have to turn off replies - but the alternative is having to deal with bots, anon cretins and the odd actual Irish weirdo who couldn't run a bath.

Never forget, a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

ALL ROAD USERS.

And painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all. For sharrows, it’s safer to NOT have them.

Two infant children moved from their home because of bomb threats against their mother?

Absolutely disgusting behaviour & inevitable consequence of inflammatory language being consistently used in the immigration ‘debate’.

Total solidarity with Helen McEntee TD & her family.

Sinn Féin opposed the Citizenship Referendum in 2004 and deserved serious credit for the leadership they showed at that time. All of that is now undermined by the cynical posturing about ‘open borders’ and other tropes at a time when political leadership is so desperately needed.

I’ve heard similar comments from right wing Tories in Westminster.

There’s nothing progressive about this politics - it’s populist dog whistling and people can see it from a mile off.

Ireland is full... of abandoned and derelict houses, at a time when we have record homelessness.
One man in South Leitrim has sent me 68 photographs with Eircodes. This is just one of them.
Time for change on Leitrim County Council.

Paddy Cole Exactly. The Indo on Eoin Ó Broin during the week, ‘He was just worried that the video of the incident, which was posted on X, might discourage people from minority communities in particular from going into politics.’ Very different from what he said about me on Vincent Browne.

You cant object to being called far right but then use tactics from the history of the far right. I respect anyone's right to protest, disagree, contest, and win elections. But I reject intimidating people to frighten them and their family off the pitch. That isn't democracy.…

“The main obstacle to cycling is not hills or the weather: it’s inequality. Equality and cycling are cause and effect.

The existence of cycleways reflects how egalitarian and democratic a society is, and high-quality infrastructure for cycling produces a more inclusive society.”

Martina Genockey Absolutely and some of the same people getting/who will get abuse now were the same people whipping up anger on political opponents & whose supporters were egging the same gene pool on. A boomerang.
