Could not find many 1/24 scale accessories for the Bedford, so I've designed and printed my own little thermos flask. The handle is currently a bit puny, so I'll have to beef that up a bit.

Inspired by Adam Watkinson's toolbox, I've decided to make my own in 1/24 scale. Nowhere near as detailed, but I think it should paint up nicely for the back of the truck.

Printing my new toolkit design end-on (right) helps prevent the stepping of the sloping sides when printed conveniently (left). Ends will also be easier to clean up. Exactly the same .stl file, just sliced differently.

Black underpainting for my Modelu figure (as I’ve learned you do from watching many videos) and classic colours for my own thermos and toolbox #3Dprints. #JFFforSimon

Spent a happy hour down a rabbit hole researching inch to the mile Ordnance Survey maps from the 50s and 60s. Wanted to establish how big they were for an accurately scaled down version for the back of the truck.

Final plank washes and I think we are very nearly done with the truck itself. Trying very hard not to knock that wing-mirror off!

If anyone is interested, I've put the 3D print files for the thermos and toolkit on my website, along with a pdf to print the map. They are 1/24 scale, but could easily be resized for 1/35 etc. paterpracticus.com/model-truck-ac…

Bedford OLBD now just about finished, along with my accessories and figure staging the scene of the unfortunate breakdown. Nicer, better lit photos to follow. #JFFforSimon

EMHAR 1/24 scale Bedford 5-ton O series dropside truck, or as I’m calling it “I’m pretty sure we passed one about a mile back”. #JFFforSimon

I decided not to do the framework behind the cab as it would have got in the way of my extra details, but what a nice kit. #JFFforSimon
