We’ve been stunned by the acting performances from our students - from those in the limelight to those supporting on skid row, all backed by students & staff working #behindthescenes on sound, lights, making props and providing catering - it has truly been a #TeamCarleton effort!

Yesterday a group of our Geography students arrived in the land of fire and ice and got their first flavour of Iceland. They stepped from Europe into North America and saw and smelt the signs of thermal activity. #CHSIcelandTrip2025 #explorers

In Iceland our Geographers had a relaxing start to the day in the natural hot spring and ice plunge. Then they headed to Gulfoss waterfall fed by glacial meltwater and stopped off to see some of the unique Icelandic horses! #CHSIcelandTrip2025 #waterfalls #GeographyatCHS

The suspense was real as students waited for the geysir to erupt which happens once every ten minutes! Then they walked through Thingvellir National Park, where they saw the tectonic plates of Europe and North America. #CHSIcelandTrip2025 #Geographyinaction

This morning our Geography students hiked up the solheimajokull glacier, where you can see volcanic ash from previous eruptions exposed as the ice melts. #CHSIcelandTrip2025 #glacier #GeographyatCHS

In #Iceland our #geographers visited Black Beach to see the Basalt columns formed by cooling lava on the cliffs and spotted Puffins feeding their chicks on the cliffs of the beach. #CHSIcelandTrip #Blackbeach

Waterfalls were on the agenda for the afternoon in Iceland with our students visiting Skogafoss waterfall and Seljalandsfoss waterfall, 65 metres high, with its spray creating a rainbow at the bottom. Waterproofs essential! #CHSIcelandTrip2025 #waterfalls #Icelandicviews

This morning our geography students had a tour of the Raufarhólshellir lava tunnel which was carved out 5000 years ago by lava flows coming from an eruption which lasted for around 5 years - amazing! #CHSIcelandTrip2025 #lavatunnel #volcanoe
