In March I won the Latin Reading Competition for the GCSE Latin Solo Category. I read a rendition from Ovid’s Metamorphoses. I loved participating in this competition as it enabled me to immerse myself in the classical world! Guildford Classical Assoc. (I was on my way to read in this photo!)

Here is a photo of me in Egypt in October 2018 - what an incredible trip! I am desperate to return there again to visit the new Egyptian museum in Cairo (they were moving the artefacts over when I was last there) - this quarantine I have been attempting to learn hieroglyphics!

I attended an online talk by Natalie Haynes held by Guildford Classical Assoc. about her new book Pandora’s Jar! It was one of the best talks I’ve seen, I’m delighted she decided to give the women of Greek myths the reassessment of their stories that they deserved - I can’t wait to read it!

Delighted that John Szepietowski and Kay Stewart from Audley Chaucer solicitors @audleychaucer are setting up an Esher Chamber of Commerce. Great news for the High Street & wider community - I look forward to supporting their initiatives.

At the start of August, I completed the JACTGreekSummerSch Summer School! I had the most amazing time reading, studying and translating Greek. The lectures were beyond fascinating and I particularly enjoyed studying Homer’s ‘Odyssey’ Book XI and Sophocles’ ‘Philoctetes’.

I completed another archaeological dig this summer! I found some painted wall plaster, a horse jaw and lots of pieces of pottery. Such an exciting and rewarding experience! Thank you Archeoscan

I’m delighted to have completed an internship working in the Seanad Eireann where I worked alongside a Senator on surrogacy legislation. I’m so grateful for such a valuable experience and I look forward to seeing how this legislation progresses in committee meetings in the future
