It wouldn't be the Glasgow Fair without revisiting this beauty. "Glasgow Fair" by Paisley-born artist John Knox. It was feared lost but turned up at auction in 2013, mislabeled and misattributed, where it was acquired by Glasgow Museums. 📷 Glasgow Museums #Glasgow

Have ye had yer Fairin'? Glasgow Fair 1915, and this family are at St Enoch Station to head off on their hols. That wicker hamper balancing on dad's head is full of clothes and maybe bed linen, and could be sent on ahead to your holiday digs. 📷 Newsquest #Glasgow

A wee look back at 1988's Glasgow Garden Festival. There were a fair few downpours during its 152 day run. We're looking over the canting basin at Prince's Dock, to the festival site beyond. #Glasgow

Rest in peace, John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne, the original Prince of Darkness. Here he is photographed feeding the pigeons in George Square ahead of a gig at the legendary Apollo in 1982.

This spectacular Scots Renaissance style tenement at the junction of High St and Duke St, was designed by Burnet, Boston and Carruthers, and erected in 1903 for the City Improvement Trust. It forms part of the Bell o' the Brae tenements that line this part of High St. #glasgow

A tenement of 1902 on Hunter St, designed by John Gordon as part of a complex of buildings including a store and stables for J & A Arthur, potato and grain merchants. The large sculptured panel shows a 'trophy', with implements and emblems reflecting the building's use.

One of many ways to tell the age of a tenement is how the blank space created by the lum is treated. Older tenements use blind windows, while newer buildings often make a feature of it, like here on Laurel Place. 📷 Past Glasgow #Glasgow

Sunset on the Clyde, looking west to the Finnnieston crane, photographed by Colin Duncan between 1968 and 1972. The mournful crans beautifully silhouetted against the setting sun, as they bear witness to the sad decline of Clyde shipbuilding. 📷 Colin Duncan #Glasgow

Today's Friday pub is the Great Northern Bar on Cowcaddens St. It's pictured here in 1933, with a bill for the comedy "Sailor Be Good" going up above its sign. The film was showing at the neighbouring New Grand Picture House. 📷 Glasgow City Archives #Glasgow

A few snaps of Franklin St, NYC, otherwise known as Bothwell St, Glasgow. The modern classical Scottish Legal Life Assurance building of 1927 by Edward G. Wylie definitely gives off New York vibes, even if Blythswood Hill directly facing it is more San Francisco. #Glasgow

The Pollok fold of Highland cattle was on fine form yesterday, pleasing the crowds by coming right up to the fence in Pollok Park. This lovely lady seemed to be enjoying the attention. #Glasgow

The Cadogan St rear elevation of Sir JJ Burnet's Atlantic Chambers of 1899. Although the Hope St facade is more ornate, this rear elevation has a pleasing simplicity that just screams "Glasgow". #Glasgow

It looks like being a stormy day of wind, sunshine, and showers. A lot like this evocative 1970s shot looking along Dumbarton Rd in Partick to the corner of Dowanhill St on the left. 📷 Colin Baxter #Glasgow
