Today, EMPL Committee Press MEPs concluded their visit to the Ruhr area in 🇩🇪. They visited chemical and steel plants and educational facilities, such as Marl Chemical Park, thyssenkrupp, Quaz-Ruhr, Ruhr University Bochum, and DASA Dortmund, to discuss the region's just transition.

#EUPreparedness is no longer optional - it's essential. Today, we adopted our position: ✅ Stronger coordination across borders ✅ Better support for first responders ✅ Digital & civil-military readiness ✅ Access to vital medicines, food & energy epp.group/m1ilgqvw

The EPP Group also insists on targeted support for volunteers active in civil protection, notably volunteer firefighters and first responders. The cross-border deployment of emergency services must also be further simplified. Pascal Arimont #EUPreparedness
