Prof. Bayram Tekin from METU / ODTÜ in Ankara is visiting us this week, thanks to an Erasmus+ staff mobility agreement for teaching that allows him to give five lectures on "Modified Gravity" at our institute. It's great to have you, Bayram!

Really enjoyed the "Frontiers in Cosmology and Gravitational Physics" workshop [ sciama.icg.port.ac.uk/frontiers2024/… ] at the University of Portsmouth! Can you spot me in the picture? 😉

Bielefeld-Münster Cosmo Connection 2024, summer edition: two days of talks to update each other on recent activities in Bielefeld and Münster, plus a nice "Flammkuchen" dinner this time. 😋

Impressions of the talks by our participants from the Bielefeld- Münster- Cosmo- Connection! We explored many interesting topics, including parallels in the search of new physics in CMB and GWB and progress on the statistical analysis of parameters in new hypotheses 🌌

🚨 New video on the PCM YouTube channel: youtu.be/qrJ7D3_oa2s?si… in which PCM postdoc Sasha Sobol summarizes our recent paper on "Scalar Perturbations from Inflation in the Presence of Gauge Fields": arxiv.org/abs/2404.19694

🚨 New analysis of the NANOGrav PFC 15-yr data (main contributions from Münster+Warsaw): We introduce the running of the spectral index, constrain it using our data, and discuss parameter bounds that apply if the signal should originate from cosmic inflation: arxiv.org/abs/2408.10166

🚨 New PCM paper on the arXiv [ arxiv.org/abs/2408.16538 ]: Schwinger pair production during axion inflation can be relevant for the generation of primordial magnetic fields. We take an in-depth look at this effect and partially find large deviations from earlier treatments.
