Osprey 7/9/2024 Dungeness took most of the morning for us to get a few good images of this bird but many superb views at distance until it flew almost directly over our heads

Another good week for Nicky and I at Dungeness .A Hen Harrier hunted the reserve and like the Black necked and Slavonian grebes showed well. I managed to find a Long tailed duck on Burrows that sadly did not linger and the starlings put on some wonderful shows .

Nicky & I approached boats at Dungeness for a short sea watch ,when a leaving birder said he had seen a whale. We saw it and messaged it out and soon a small crowd formed. D.W pointed out it was a Humpback whale. A new species for us and amazing to watch so near the beach !

Christmas week offered little time for birding but very pleased to catch up with the Yellow Warbler at Brookland today . Only record shots at best for me but the bird was looking superb even in the poor light .

Dungeness today seeing the Iberian Chiffchaff at South view and in great company .Hearing it calling several times and singing for a few moments. Viewing is being allowed by the home owner so please treat this with respect and only park on the roadside not the gravel drive.
