What a contrast! This photo taken earlier today shows the difference between how native plants and turf grass tolerate drought. Native plants are adapted to our climate and soil, and also have deeper root systems that help them weather dry conditions.

I’m just a boy, standing in front of the world, asking you to love him...and to not feed me. We have a lot of new members to #TeamPublicLands this summer and we’re so glad you're out there enjoying nature. Just remember, even if the critters look cute, never give them food.

Back on patrol in Superior National Forest. Rustic campsites were unoccupied, except for my crew, and rather clean! It's very nice to be able to relax as opposed to picking up after others
