As part of the Roots programme, Park Academy students have been working with students from an independent school. Earlier this week, they got together to talk about their visions for the future.

Year 11 have spent some valuable time today considering apprenticeships as a post 16 option.

Students from across Aspirations academies have for the last 10 years enjoyed educational field trips to Houston, Texas and Cape Canaveral, Florida. We can’t wait for students to return to the USA in February for another incredible trip!

Our students are thoroughly enjoying their trip to NASA! They reviewed their project work ready for a visit to Energy Institute High School and had a look around downtown Houston. They visited a NASA themed gift shop and enjoyed a Chinese buffet for dinner! #nasatrip

What an incredible experience visiting Energy Institute High School! The students had a tour of the campus, sat in on an AI class, got creative in an AP Engineering class and visited the robotics engineering room. It was a great day of learning, creativity, and inspiration! 🚀✨

Students on the NASA trip visited the Mission Control Centre and walked through mockups of vehicles used in training for space travel. In the evening they had a meal with teacher Jamie Lupold who gave an insight into her experience working with astronauts and NASA staff. #nasa

Students had a fantastic time at Space Center Houston. They looked at all the exhibits, which included a mock-up space shuttle and examples of the equipment and capsules used during missions such as the lunar rover and Mercury 9 capsule. They took lots of notes - a great day!

Students on the NASA trip visited Rice University and met staff to enjoy a tour of the campus. They visited Spaceport Houston, a hub for aerospace innovation. To end the day they visited La Porte High School for a performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

On the last day of their NASA trip, students took part in a rocket building competition! Well done to the winners - Matthews’s team! The students then went to Frenchie’s Italian Diner - first opened in 1979, which quickly became a hotspot for astronauts! #nasa

A group of 30 of our Year 7 students are enjoying a residential trip as a reward for having the most achievement points so far this year. They are staying at the YHA in South Downs carrying out a series of fun, outside adventure activities. What a brilliant few days!
