THIS SATURDAY! Loads of great bands a stone's throw from the centre of Bath. And we're playing (we're one of the 'More acts TBC') and I'm genuinely super excited about it. Just ran the setlist and, without wanting to blow my own horn too much, it's really good.

My 2023 listener summary from Spotify - most listened to song was I'd Bet My Land & Titles by The Paranoid Style followed by 50 White Lines by kathryn williams. Both fantastic songs, go listen to them. My most listened to artist of 2023 was Bob Dylan, who needs no further promoting.

I have mine pre-ordered already. On cassette no less. And much more reasonably priced than Pearl Jam's recent cassette reissue of vs. I really like that album but once you added on postage from USA as well? Yikes.

Audio cassette of the day: Secret Arcade by The Hydrogen Trees. Inventive and genuinely lo-fi indie fabulousness. Reminds be a bit of the Flaming Lips but I like this more. Limited edition tape available from Irregular Patterns.

Cassette of the day, bought 2nd hand when I was 19 and Greyhounding round USA with @Benjabob for 3 months. I had a cassette Walkman, about 30 tapes and a supply of batteries in my rucksack. There were some long rides and we went coast to coast twice. Nirvana's best album?

Cassette of the day: this was the first album I bought in person from the shops. It's not A-ha's best one (that's probably East of the Sun...) but there's still some great songs on there. I bought this after a few weeks of continually listening to Train of Thought. #aha

I'm tired of hearing Game Manager used as a derogatory term for QBs. That's the biggest part of the job description. Run the offence, manage the game. The rest of it is tools to help you do that.

I know as a Chargers fan that I'm supposed to loathe Kansas City but I just can't begrudge Mahomes, Reid et al any of their success. It's great watching them figure out a game and then execute it. Mahomes is so good at lifting his team, the game manager extraordinaire.

Very much enjoyed the debate on the pluralising of the word 'fish' on Fighting Talk this week. Thanks to all involved, especially Kate Mason, Rick Edwards, and Bob Mills. It was a subject I looked into in some detail when deciding on a band name.
