Of all of the improvements today, we know that many of you are most excited for this one. Just like we were the first laptop maker to ship 180W USB-C two years ago, we may be the first to ship 240W USB-C too!

Someone reminded me today that EuroRust is just a few weeks away. Time flies fast. Manuel and me will be arriving in Paris on the 8th, around 12 AM, and we'll be leaving on the 11th around 7 PM. We don't have much of a plan yet. Happy to catch-up with anyone over there.

Facial recognition violates privacy laws, yet the Australian Government wants to force the use of facial recognition to ensure my 14yo can't have a Youtube account. Fucking clown world.

Thanks to Debian, RISC-V support in Ubuntu requires RVA23, incentivizing chip manufacturers to stop spewing out garbage e-waste chips everywhere. Also sudo-rs and uutils coreutils are nice additions, but I wish instead of a suid bin they made a sudo shim that calls systemd-run0.

HSVSphere (@hsvsphere) 's Twitter Profile Photo

And no, uutils coreutils isn't slower, you just fell for that one lunduke post pointing out an edge case, which later got fixed to be even faster than gnu coreutils. I am not a fan of canonical but I appreciate them making these tools widely used, squashing the few bugs left

Did you know Terminator 2: Judgment Day had an alternate ending where everyone lived happily ever after? This might've spared us unnecessary sequels.

11th flight of the Saturn V was Apollo 16. Took men to drive electric cars on the moon and returned them safely to earth. 'starship' flight 11 didnt make orbit.... again! Apollo 17 wrapped up the program. Starship is just a starlink deployer pretending to be space exploration

Cloudflare is being blocked across Spain, leaving many unable to access game servers (i.e. Blue Protocol), streaming services, and many other parts of the internet. The following graph shows a brief 200% spike in free Proton VPN signups originating in Spain as a result.

the netstack3 code in fuschia is great, there's was also a talk about it in rustconf on how they barely had any bugs at all thanks to how they used the typesystem to their benefit (like making deadlocks statically impossible, something netstack2 in go was struggling with)
