Happy to share our NatureEcoEvo paper: 20 insect families account for most of species diversity in Malaise traps, but continue to be highly neglected. It incidentally became a COVID project with sequencing finishing just before the lock down. doi.org/10.1038/s41559…
New work led by Lazzat Aibekova with some great collaborators investigating a rare trait in ants: the ability to jump. Thanks to [email protected] we were able to include abstracts in Uchinaaguchi (Okinawan) and Kazakh, languages not typically seen in the scientific literature.
Pleased to share the first paper from my PhD at OIST, showing that #eusociality did not drive the expansions in the number of odorant receptors in #Hymenoptera! 🐜🐝 Big thanks to all my co-authors! @Dorylophile Julian Katzke Paco Hita-Garcia Shûhei Yamamoto & Evan Economo
Evolution of odorant receptor repertoires across Hymenoptera – including bees, wasps and ants - is not linked to the evolution of eusociality: ow.ly/xK0150Tvbv6 #ProcB #OpenAccess Shubham Gautam @Dorylophile Julian Katzke Paco Hita-Garcia Evan Economo
