What construction companies will want to bid on projects in Alberta when their government contracts could be broken at any moment? The UCP’s politically-motivated decision on the Green Line hurts businesses, our economy, and Albertans.

There are real consequences to the UCP’s decision to kill the Green Line. Homes and land purchased, buildings torn down, infrastructure cleared, lands prepared, utilities moved… Real people, real jobs, real costs. Gone because somewhere in the last month, the UCP broke

BRT construction on Centre St paves the way for future Green Line expansion into Calgary-Beddington. The UCP killed the project only a month after confirming their commitment. A good government is reliable, but the UCP have shown us they can’t be trusted to keep their word.

It’s hard to build big things in Canada right now, and it’s crushing our economy. Here’s an example of the UCP wrecking a good, job-creating project for no reason. And that means fewer jobs, worse pay, less growth, and a continued infrastructure deficit.

The UCP government would rather fight than win. Unfortunately, it’s Calgarians who are losing out.
