I've always avoided doing Blender animations (cycles), assuming rendering would take a lot of time. Surprisingly, this one only took an hour and a half. You just need to compromise a bit on the render settings and you can significantly cut down on the time.

This blender render took just 30 mins. I am rendering stuff at 50 sample rate still stuff look pretty crisp.

Boat with golden paddles. Rendered at 24fps in Blender and then used After Effects frame blending (pixel motion) to go from 24fps to 60fps. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
