In my Urgent Question to the Foreign Office, I said the remarks of the US President, that the US will 'take over the Gaza Strip' and that 1.8 million Palestinians must live in 'other countries', are reckless and dangerous.

I said forced displacement - which has already occurred within the Gaza Strip - is a war crime. And that advocating the expulsion of people is also justly described as ethnic cleansing .

And I pressed the need to urgently recognise the Palestinian state - on the 1967 borders - to resolve this conflict.
