Had some really interesting discussions with 🇯🇵 Ambassador H. E Michi Embassy of Japan in Fiji 在フィジー日本国大使館 this afternoon on joint collaborations - academic and technical.

I also conveyed The University of the South Pacific’s appreciation to japan for its robust and continued support and engagement with USP.

Hearty congratulations to all our staff and students who were recognised and awarded this evening at our 11th Research Excellence Award Night.

A special congratulations to our young researchers and best wishes to each and everyone of you as you continue this incredible journey!

Young people are taking regional commitments such as the Teieniwa Vision very seriously!

At this event in the 🇸🇧’s, I had the opportunity to speak with our students and had the privilege of hearing directly from them about the future that they envision for our #BluePacific .

Had very productive discussions with the Rector of University of Macau, Prof. Song on the commencement of collaboration between #USP and #UM .

#UM leads a number of research areas that are a priority for #USP and I look forward to progressing our partnership 🤝 for joint research and more!

Had some interesting discussions with A/Vice-President Prof Collins while at The University of Hong Kong. I look forward to some exciting collaborations 🤝between HKU and The University of the South Pacific especially on ocean sciences and technology, Climate Change and Sustainable Development.

A solemn morning spent at the ruins of the 2022 Hunga Tonga–Hunga Haʻapai eruption and tsunami was followed by time spent at Mapu a Vaea, before a visit to the Ancient Tonga 🇹🇴 museum, then back to Nadi 🇫🇯 for dinner with The University of the South Pacific VC & Australian Institute of International Affairs fellow Professor Pal Ahluwalia, USP VC.
