I don’t think Judge McBurney would be doing this now if the grand jury had a lot more work to do. There may be a report coming soon. Remember, this “special” grand jury can’t indict anyone. It can only issue a report with recommendations.

He really, really doesn’t want to answer questions about any discussions with Trump. He has no atty-client or 5th Amend. privilege. So if he’s asked, he has to answer.

Doesn’t matter if they had probable cause to arrest Brooks. The question is did Brooks present a threat of seriously injuring the officers when Rolf shot him. Maybe the officers are not guilty, but they shouldn’t be granted immunity from prosecution.

The language in an affidavit is always strong and conclusory. The agent can’t lie or withhold material information, but there is no requirement for the agent to include “the other side.”

A search warrant is directed at a place and not a person. But the facts that established probable cause in this affidavit look a lot like what it would take to indict or get an arrest warrant for FPOTUS.

What Trump is doing right now is daring the DOJ to charge him. And it’s probably his best move at this point. But it’s one hell of a gamble.

The only way a special master impacts the investigation in any meaningful way is if the DOJ overreacts to it (like they often do). Someone may look over your shoulder on this one, ok? Get over it. Don’t treat this as if Trump won something significant (he didn’t)
