Today, Minister Prudence Sebahizi visited the Rubavu, Cyanika, and Gatuna borders to assess the state of cross-border trade and explore ways to enhance its efficiency and productivity.
This afternoon, Minister Prudence Sebahizi received Veronica M. Nduva, CBS, Annette Mutaawe Ssemuwemba, and Flavia Busingye, Director Customs, EAC for a courtesy visit. They discussed ways to boost trade, promote industrialisation, and foster regional integration within the EAC, among other key issues.
This afternoon, Veronica M. Nduva, CBS, together with Annette Mutaawe Ssemuwemba, Minister Prudence Sebahizi, and CG Ronald Niwenshuti, visited the Gatuna One-Stop Border Post to witness how the movement of people and goods is facilitated.
📍In an effort to accelerate trade facilitation at the Gatuna (RW)/Katuna (UG) OSBP; EAC SG Veronica M. Nduva, CBS, Rwanda’s Minister of Trade Prudence Sebahizi and Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) Commissioner General engaged stakeholders on enhancing cross-border trade efficiency.
This morning, Minister Prudence Sebahizi received H.E. Ernest Yaw Amporful, the High Commissioner of Ghana to Rwanda. Their discussions focused on strengthening existing bilateral relations in trade and industrial development.
Today, Minister Prudence Sebahizi visited the Rubavu Bonded Warehouse, currently under construction by DP World, to assess its progress. The facility is expected to enhance customs efficiency and ensure the smooth movement of goods. The warehouse is set to open in early August 2025.

This Friday, Minister Prudence Sebahizi presided over the closing ceremony of the Regional Trade Policy Courses (RTPCs) for English-speaking African Members and Observers of the WTO.
