1939 passport issued in eastern Poland days before the Red Army invaded on September 17th. The stamp bottom-right, if I am not wrong, was applied by Titos's partisans after liberation. The travel document was issued to civil servant Leopold Lepecki.

On this day Irena Januszewska returned home after leaving France as war broke out, crossing the Polish-Romanian border at Sniatyn September 6th, 1939. Its' the only example I have seen were an individual made the effort to RETURN and not escape Poland at the time.

The holder of this Latvian internal passport has markings inside indicating that its holder was called into service and join the Latvian Legion of the Waffen SS. Such documents did not tend to survive the war since they were not viewed kindly by the occupying Soviets...

Argentinian diplomat Carlos R. Piñeyro was expelled from Denmark in 1947 for his role in the infamous RATLINE, a route used to aid escaping former Nazis and fascists to South America. Here is an example of a visa issued by him from Belgrade seven years later.

Yugoslavian diplomatic passport extended in Buenos Aires by ambassador Slavoljub Djera Petrović, former #WW2 partisan and one of the first diplomats from Southern Serbia with this rank in 1956.

1955 Yugoslavian Diplomatic passport issued to their ambassador in Santiago. Former partisan Dragutin Djurdjev arrived in Chile at the end of October.

1955 Chinese visa issued in Belgrade for Beijing, transiting through the #USSR and good for entering Beijing or Manzhouli (entry point from before 1941).

Manzhouli (满洲里) was the entry point into China, later Manchuria, up to 1941. After #WW2 remained the same border crossing point during the #ColdWar from the #USSR via rail.

1941 Japanese issued movement permit from occupied Tianjin, southeast of Beijing. The document seems to have been issued to a Jean-Baptiste Noel Vasso from Belgium, sadly the photo has been removed.

#WW2 escape passport issued in Bucharest to Major Władysław Sobotkowski who was in the ME and a senior member of the Polish military courts based in Egypt during the war. Further research is required.
